Jerry Seinfeld Teams Up With Soup Nazi For Acura Super Bowl Commercial [Video]

Soup Nazi and Jerry Seinfeld

Jerry Seinfeld is back on the small screen but this time it’s not a new TV series but rather a Super Bowl commercial for the Acura NSX.

In the commercial Seinfeld sets out to own the first Acura NSX by wooing the first customer to get their hands on the new vehicle.

The ad is rather elaborate and features Seinfeld attempting to woo the new NSX owner with various gifts including a steaming hot pot of soup from the famous “soup Nazi” for which Seinfeld remarks, “I own all of the characters.”

The commercial is a rather long one minutes and fifty two seconds which could mean big bucks for nearly four Super Bowl ad spots should it air in it’s entirety.

In the end it’s Jay Leno who thwarts Jerry Seinfeld’s attempt at owning the first Acura NSX.

Here’s the Jerry Seinfeld Super Bowl commercial:

Do you think the commercial is funny or just an over-elaborate attempt to sell a car?

What’s the formula for a perfect Super Bowl commercial? One part celebrity, one part humor and one part good-looking car. Acura included all three with their latest Super Bowl commercial highlighting the 2012 Acura NSX.

The ad stars comedian Jerry Seinfeld with a special appearance by the Soup Nazi.

Super Bowl Ad Power Rankings: Enter the Soup Nazi

There’s been a shift in the power rankings, as Acura has leaked its Super Bowl commercial featuring Jerry Seinfeld and the Soup Nazi. Will Jerry take over the No. 1 spot? (Hint: No soup for you). Find out following the jump.

1. The Bark Side, Volkswagen. As you know, George Lucas is re-releasing the six Star Wars movies in 3D, starting with Phantom Menace on Feb. 10. So of course there’s a commercial tie-in with the Super Bowl, and Volkswagen has taken the theme and run with it. The results are quite pleasing: witness dogs barking the Imperial March, with a nice little surprise at the end. (Obi Wan waves hand) “These are not the Snausages you’re looking for.” This is actually a teaser: Volkswagen’s two Super Bowl ads have something to do with a dog chasing a car and a group of Star Wars aliens.

source: 2. Make Your Own, Doritos. Our No. 2 commercial is really not an official Super Bowl ad at all: it’s an entry in the Doritos Tortilla Chip Crash the Super Bowl Contest that didn’t make the cut (top five). But even though Doritos didn’t choose this effort by the Austin, Texas filmmaking team of John Ramsey, Jack Dreesen and David Ward, it’s the one getting the most YouTube hits so far: more than 2.3 million as of this writing.

source: 3. Chevy Happy Grad, Chevrolet. Companies are starting to figure out that the best commercials are the homegrown variety. Zach Borst, a 26-year-old filmmaker from Long Island, wrote, produced and directed this one for Chevrolet’s Route 66 Super Bowl ad competition, and it was chosen above 250 others to be broadcast during the Super Bowl. I’m assuming Zach will get more than a mini fridge for his efforts.

source: 4. Transactions, Acura. We got a Ferris Bueller redux (see below), so why not the return of Jerry Seinfeld and the Soup Nazi? Plus, there’s the last living munchkin, an alien, and Jerry traversing Manhattan on a zip line. This is the extended version, so why not play along with me and guess which bits will make the final cut? Newman! Leno!

source: 5. Vampire Party, Audi. One of my favorite fantasies, killing off all the vampires from the Twilight films, comes to life in this commercial for Audi … or more specifically, for Audi headlights. Now, is there an option for shirtless werewolves?

source: 6. Matthew Broderick’s Day Off, Honda CRV. Aside from his greying hair and a few extra pounds, Matthew Broderick could still pass for 17. But is it wise to bring Ferris Bueller back 26 years later? I don’t know … you be the judge. Loved the ending, though.

source: 7. Sled, Suzuki. Dogs are hot this year: Sunday’s game breaks will be replete with canines barking John Williams soundtrack music, shilling for Doritos, and chilling in Suzukis. But as one YouTube commenter noted about this commercial: “Where does he buy gas?”

source: 8. Pepsi Max Checkout, Pepsi. The ever-suffering Coca-Cola delivery guy with a thirst for Pepsi products is back, and this time he has to contend with a blabby checkout girl, and Regis Philbin. Poor dumb sap.

source: 9. Drive the Dream, Kia. OK, admittedly there’s not much of this commercial here yet. But what I see I like.

source: 10. Mr. Quiggly, Skechers. Another preview, but this looks like it has potential. Mr. Quiggly in the sixth to win.

Super Bowl Ad Power Rankings will be updated each day this week, if there are new Super Bowl commercials good enough to break into the top ten.

Rumer Willis reportedly witnessed Demi Moore’s seizure

Rumer Willis

Rumer Willis’ nickname, “Rue,” can be heard on the 911 call that was made when mom Demi Moore was suffering a seizure after “smoking something” — and on Tuesday a source was confirming that Rumer was indeed present during the emergency.

With “a few people” still around from a birthday party Demi had been hosting, Rumer and a couple of friends were in another part of the house when the seizure occurred, a source told E! News.

According to the 911 call, which had specifics about substances edited out, Moore had “smoked something” that was “not marijuana, it’s like incense.” (Hear the full 911 call, placed on Jan. 23, below.)

Speculation about what she might have smoked has included mention of “spice” or “K2″ and other herbal incense products, which are often laced with designer drugs and can “quite often” result in seizure activity, according to a doctor who spoke with ABC News. Salvia, which has hallucinogenic effects, is also sometimes marketed as herbal incense.

While Moore’s whereabouts remain uncertain, Willis on Sunday night hit the official gala after the Screen Actors Guild Awards with Annie Starke, Glenn Close’s daughter.

Keeping it low-key, Rumer greeted same-aged thesps, including cast members from “Glee,” staying tight with her friend and stargazing.

Elizabeth Banks: Platza Treatments Are Really Painful! Rest and relaxation? As if!

The type of spa treatments Elizabeth Banks goes for aren’t quiet as and calm and laid-back as some spa-goers might prefer.

“The most ridiculous [spa] experience I’ve had was in Budapest. It’s known for its bathhouses, and I’d never been to one of those. I had some giant Hungarian smack me with palm fronds,” the actress told Time Out New York about her first platza treatment. “It was so painful [Laughs], but I was too embarrassed to say, “Please stop!”

Like Banks describes, platza treatments are when a massage specialist continuously smacks a broom made of oak leaves soaked in warm water over your entire body. The procedure is said to be a natural way of removing toxins and skin-dulling residue from your body.

For a less rough-and-tumble service, Banks prefers to get wrapped up like a caterpillar.

“I recently had an amazing mud wrap [in Park City, Utah]. The aesthetician asked if I was claustrophobic, which made me wonder if I really knew what a wrap entailed,” the Man on a Ledge actress continued to the weekly regional mag. “She said she was going to wrap me with foil and cover my eyes, which makes some people feel like they’re in a coffin. [Laughs] I told her I thought I’d be okay, and I was.”
